what to read next

I like to read but I very rarely buy books. The library is a regular trip – sometimes, with Sawyer, sometimes by myself. Most of the books I have bought recently are for Sawyer, although I’ve realized that most of his non-library books have been around for a while – might need to buy something new for his birthday.

Recently, I haven’t read many books that I really liked. Today, I happened to look at the Amazon Top 100 List for 2007. I initially thought I’d take a look and see what I read – but what I discovered is that I haven’t read much. Exactly one item on both the Editors’ List and the Topsellers List. So much for my reputation in bookgroup (current and past) for having read everything… Now that one book was really good and it was one of the few books I read that I would consider buying.

#31 - Animal, Vegetable, Miracle: A Year of Food Life by Barbrara Kingsolver.

Out of curiosity, I looked at the NYTimes lists as well. Hardcover Fiction - nope, Hardcover Non-Fiction - nope. Trade Fiction - okay, yup, these look familiar. I've read about 1/3 of the books, but none very recently.

more later … when I can type without misspelling.
